Robber steals money, but leaves behind his
wallet.
A forgetful thief is in custody after
leaving behind his calling card at the scene of the crime.
At about 7 p.m. on New Year's Day, Alfonso Valbuena, 22, went into a Mobil
gas station in Lantana, Florida, opened his wallet and asked the clerk for
change. He then placed his wallet down on the counter, pulled a gun from
his waistband and demanded cash.
The robber then fled the scene with $200 in cash, but amid the hasty
escape forgot one thing - his wallet that he left behind on the counter.
Authorities found several traffic citations in his wallet that they
subsequently used to track down the suspect. Valbuena was charged with
armed robbery and is being held in Palm Beach County Jail, according to a
court clerk.
