Lost In Space.

A teenager, who swallowed a $3,000 ring he allegedly pilfered from a home in a Detroit area home, decided to help police recover the ring in a roundabout way.

It seems that the young man pilfered the ring while on a carpet cleaning job - and then swallowed it. When the ring's owner noticed it missing and called the cleaning firm, the crew was ordered back to the home.

After admitting the heist to the police, the jewelry bandit then offered to recover the ring while in jail after his digestive system is - well, done with it.

The police shut off water to his cell and provided a portable toilet so that the gem could be recovered after a call of nature.
