High Roller Hits Bump In The Road.
A high-rolling robbery suspect apparently liked to
ride in style. According to police, a man rented a stretch limo from the
My Way Limo company in San Francisco and told the driver that he wanted to
stop at his girlfriend's house before going to San Francisco International
airport.
The man, a personal trainer sporting a white and purple track suit,
allegedly nixed the girlfriend plan and instead had the limo driver drive
him to a Bank of America branch.
He needed to make a withdrawal, of sorts.
Using a fake gun, the sporty thief demanded cash from two tellers, while
the unsuspecting limo driver sat double-parked in front of the bank.
The high roller walked out $5,000 richer and planned to head
straight to the America West terminal, according to police. However, using
a high profile getaway car ended doing in the robber. A suspicious citizen
spotted the man getting into the limo and proceeded to alert police, who
pulled the limo over about 20 minutes later.
Say what you may about the robber's choice of getaway vehicles,
least he traveled in style. At least until he was cuffed and then stuffed
into the police cruiser.
